Case history
The Perkins Bio Fuel Chicken Manure Biomass Plant,in Hereford, was set up in June 2015.
The biomass burner started production in February 2018.The Farm houses 750,000 chickens on a 38-day turnaround from hatch to poultry.
Energy Innovations installed a biomass plant to burn the litter produced by the chickens. Two 8.5 m-long SSC Shaftless Screw Conveyors are flood-fed by a drag arm and feed in their turn a 10.6 m long SSC Shaftless Screw, which conveys the manure toward the burner.
The equipment layout had to be designed around 2 separate loading bays, which are divided by a thick wall. To adhere to this, WAM Engineering fitted one SSC Shaftless Screw Conveyor each per loading bay, individually fed by a drag arm.
